Today, one year after our departure from the EU, the UK has formally applied to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) – a trading partnership that accounts for £9 trillion of trade and provides access to some of the fastest-growing markets in the world – demonstrating the UK’s ambition to champion global free trade and bringing enormous economic benefits for the people of Britain.
