Peter Stein is standing to be your Dorchester East Town Councillor.
Peter has previous experience as a Town Councillor and has lived in Dorchester with his family for many years. For Peter, representing people is about listening to their concerns and speaking up to ensure their interests are recognised.
He has pledged to cut waste; keep tax low; and champion sustainability.
On cutting waste, Peter will scrutinise spending decisions of Dorchester Town Council to ensure that your money is used efficiently. There is £1.5 million if your money sat in reserves year after year. This should be reduced and put to better use.
On keeping tax low, Peter will ensure that, in the current economic climate, the Town Council is far more careful with your money. Currently, the Lib Dem-run Town Council is the 26th highest-taxing council in the country...
On championing sustainability, Peter has always voted against excessive development in Dorchester. He supports smaller scale developments spread across West Dorset.
